What is the Strip Method?

The Strip Method is still one of the most popular hair restoration procedures because it produces natural-looking results. The Strip Method is also a safe procedure.

In this method, a small strip of skin containing hair follicles is removed from the back of your head (the donor area) and then sutured in a way that promotes hair growth through the scar. The scar is normally a very minimal linear scar, which is not visible if the hair is kept at ¾ of an inch or longer. The strip is then taken into the lab and your donor’s hair is harvested under high-power stereo microscopes and then transplanted in the bald area. The strip and ARTAS FUE methods produce similar results in new hair growth.

Hair transplants are done under local anesthesia, which means the procedure itself isn’t painful, but it can be a little bit uncomfortable. However, the discomfort is only temporary.
You can expect to see results within the first three to six months of treatment, but the full extent of your results will take up to twelve months to achieve. The reason for this is that the hair will start to grow naturally, in cycles.
The recovery time after the strip hair transplant is about two weeks. During this time, patients are advised to rest and not do any strenuous activities.
